Dual-element Straight Beam Probe

YUSHI single-crystal straight beam probes used in nondestructive testing is a kind of ultrasonic probes that uses the piezoelectric effect of the material to convert electrical and acoustic energy. They are generally composed of piezoelectric wafers, damping blocks, protective films and housings. Single-crystal straight beam probe is one of the most important components of the ultrasonic testing system, and the performance of the probe directly affects the ultrasonic testing ability and effect.

Tranverse Wave Angle Beam Probe

The YUSHI Tranverse Wave Angle Beam Probe is widely used for flaw detection or welding inspection, such as cracks, holes and pores.. The tranverse wave is then reflected by the flaws in the test object. Compared to longitudinal waves, shear waves have lower attenuation and shorter wavelength, which makes them capable of detecting smaller defects.

Longitudinal Dual-element Angle Beam Probe

The YUSHI Longitudinal Dual-element Angle Beam Probe is often used where the straight beam testing struggles to find defects, for example, when the cracks are vertical and thin and thus not detectable because of small amount of reflection. This kinds of probes can be used for forgings and plates inspection.

Application of Ultrasonic Probe
单晶片直线声束探头

In Manufacturing and Other Industries

Ultrasonic probes are used in production line management, for counting of a large workforce, for detecting broken down wires and threads, detecting vehicles for automotive assembly and car wash, stacking height control, assessment of liquid levels, robotic sensing, irregular parts detection for feeder bowls and hoppers, and for measuring the distance between objects among countless other functions.

In Health Care & Medical Field

Ultrasonic probes are used for a wide range of functions in the health care sector. These include diagnostic tests, testing of internal organs like eyes, heart, and uterus, and for detecting tumors helpful in cancer detection. Ultrasound waves generated by these probes help reduce joint pains. These waves also cauterize tumors requiring localized heating. Their vibrations also help remove bladder and kidney stones.

In Chemical Industry

Ultrasonic waves produce cavitation (form bubbles) that results in an electric discharge. It acts as a catalyst in chemical reactions including oxidation and reduction, polymerization and depolymerization, molecular rearrangement, and hydrolysis. Catalytic activity results in efficient and fast chemical reactions at low or room temperature. Therefore, ultrasonic probes are used in several industries that utilize chemicals. It results in larger savings and reduced adverse effects on the environment.

For Cleaning Sensitive and Precious Items

Ultrasonic probes are used for cleaning sensitive and precious objects. As we explained above, ultrasonic waves create cavitation, bubbles, and vibrations. These probes are placed in a liquid medium along with the objects to be cleaned. The vibrations caused by the probes result in the cleaning of the object. The objects meant for cleaning include small machinery, jewelry, dentures, and other surgical instruments.

FAQ

Q: What crystal is used in ultrasonic probe?

A: Ultrasound transducers contain piezoelectric crystals that, when electrical impulses are applied, produce waves at frequencies determined by the crystal's propagation speed, divided by two times the thickness of the crystal layer. The typical thickness of crystal layers is between 0.2mm and 2mm.

Q: How to use an ultrasonic probe?

A: Hold the probe and move it like a pen. Use your other fingers to stabilize the probe against the patient as you view the ultrasound monitor. Optimize imaging. Try to avoid bone and gas, which are hyperechoic and can hide structures of interest.

Q: How do you protect an ultrasonic probe?

A: Always handle with care
Do not allow the probe to bump into hard surfaces.
Always secure your probe when not in use.
Do not drop your probe.
Always follow manufacturer-approved cleaning/disinfection methods.
If you store your probe in a drawer, ensure it is lined with foam to prevent knocking.
