What is Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge?

Industrial ultrasonic thickness gauge is a kind of portable NDT instruments that utilizes ultrasonic technology to measure the thickness of material. It is widely used in industry to monitor the wall thickness of metal, piping etc. It is a key tool for preventive maintenance, quality control and safety inspections.

Core working principle

Ultrasonic thickness gauges use Ultrasonic Pulse Transmission principle. The thickness is calculated by the formula:

1.Pipeline and Pressure Vessels Inspection:YUSHI ultrasonic thickness meters measure wall thickness of pipelines, tanks and other pressure vessels to inspect the corrosion degrees of internal construction.The innovative Thru-coating Technology supports measurements of substrate metal thickness without removing the coating or painting,(Up to 20mm thick coatings)

2.Boiler and Heat Exchanger Inspection: YUSHI PM5 GEN2 and PM5 GEN3 ultrasonic thickness gauges can be equipped with Oxide Layer Measurement Mode, which can accurately measure the thickness of oxide layers on the inner tube wall. This powerful option can not only measure the thickness of oxide layers, but also can display the thickness of the tube.
