The sound velocity of the ultrasonic thickness gauge in the steel plate is 5920m/s1. The ultrasonic thickness gauge calculates the thickness of the material by measuring the time it takes for the ultrasonic wave to propagate in the material. The frequency of ultrasonic wave propagation in the steel plate is usually 1-5MHz, which has good directivity, small energy loss, large propagation distance and strong penetration ability, and is particularly suitable for steel plate flaw detection.
The working principle of the ultrasonic thickness gauge is to calculate the thickness of the material by measuring the time it takes for the ultrasonic wave to propagate in the material. When the ultrasonic wave propagates in the steel plate, it will produce reflection, refraction or wave type conversion when it encounters the interface. By measuring the propagation time of the ultrasonic wave between the interfaces in the steel plate, the distance between the interfaces can be obtained, thereby calculating the thickness of the steel plate.
