Quartz glass is a thermoplastic with the chemic name polymethyl methacrylate,also known as PMMA or acrylic. It has high transparency, good wear assistance, light density, and excellent processing performance. This kind of material is widely used to lightbox introduction, building materials, bathroom products and other fields.

Standard Operation For Quartz Glass Measurement

1.The Preparation Before Measurement

Probe selection: For the high acoustic impedance characteristics of organic glass, a 5MHz high-frequency direct probe (model: TC550) is preferred, as its narrow pulse characteristics can improve resolution; TC110 probe can be used for thick organic glass to improve its penetration performance.
Coupling agent application: Use a coupling liquid that does not corrode the surface of quartz glass.
Environmental calibration: Calibration can be performed directly at room temperature without waiting.

Sound attenuation control: Organic glass has an absorption rate of 12dB/mm for high-frequency sound waves, which can easily cause signal attenuation. UM-5DL enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of echoes through digital signal processing technology (DSP), and it has been tested that bottom waves can still be clearly captured even at a thickness of 100mm.
Echo-to-echo measurement mode: For coated organic glass, the equipment supports penetration coating measurement mode, which distinguishes interface waves from bottom waves through spectral analysis to avoid interference from film thickness.
Large capacity storage: Built in 100000 thickness values/1000 sets of waveform data storage function, supports USB export to PC analysis software.
